Though my mid 2009 MacBook Pro is now 10 years old, it is my go-to laptop. It is reliable, durable, and it has been capable of doing everything I’ve needed it to do.
I originally bought the MacBook Pro because of my interest in time-lapse photography. I always used to watch Tom Skilling on the WGN News, so that I could see the time-lapse weather segment intro. Then, one day, I decided that it was time to get up off the couch and start creating time-lapses of my own.
After doing some research, I decided the MacBook Pro would be the best laptop for creating time-lapse videos, and that was the beginning.
One of the things that I liked best, in the early years of owning the Mac, was that it was able to run all of my Windows programs, using Parallels for the Mac. That saved me a lot of money, as I did not have to buy all new software for the MacBook Pro. Plus, it enabled me to perform the tasks I needed to in Windows, while learning the Mac software.
Now, 10 years later, I use the MacBook Pro mainly for developing websites. Though I have newer laptops, my 2009 MacBook Pro laptop is still my go-to laptop.
